Under our DRC Social Action Programme which we carry out under the supervision of the DRC Authorities, we have contributed to the building of one community health centre and the arrangement of medicine and health care equipment for eight community health centres in the exploration areas in Bas-Congo.
In Burundi, we have made significant contributions to the building of several community health centres.
Under our DRC Social Action Programme which we carry out under the supervision of the DRC Authorities, we have contributed to the building of seven primary schools in the exploration areas in Bas-Congo and training for school teachers.
We also have contractual commitments to the DRC Ministry of Hydrocarbons to pay for the professional training of their staff, which we have carried out since February 2006.
In Burundi, we also made significant contributions to the Buntu Foundation’s “Construction of 120 schools” project in 2008.
In addition to creating a micro-credit facility for agricultural and fishing activities, Surestream has purchased two agricultural DAF & Massey Ferguson tractors, ploughs and trailers for the villages in Muanda, DRC. We have also paid for the training of a local mechanic to maintain the machines.
Until now, locals have been farming only by hand. But now the tractors we have donated are being shared between villages enabling communities to plough bigger areas much quicker.
